Flip It Around!

So often when we feel upset or down we get drawn into thinking about what is upsetting us even more.

We go over and over it in our minds, trying to work out what it is happening to us and what have we done to create or deserve it.

The problem with this is that it just creates more bad feeling. The more we question it the more answers we come up with to make our selves feel worse! This is especially silly as our mind is very good at picking fault in our selves when it’s not the truth at all.

How about looking at upsetting situations in a new way? How would it feel to believe that situations are put on our way to give us a chance to decide how we would like to feel?

Instead of dwelling on what has upset you, use this opportunity to think – how would I like to be feeling instead? What would be an agreeable solution?

Then focus on that. Thoughts are energy, they get transmitted from our minds into the Universe and then the Universe simply gives us back what we are thinking of…….

So if you are thinking about what you don’t want, what is upsetting you, how you feel bad about yourself, you will simply get more of that back.

Now you don’t want that do you?

So next time you feel down try flipping it around and use the situation as a chance to create how you would like to feel instead. Allow yourself to daydream what it would be like to feel like that? What would you be doing? Saying?

Don’t waste time allowing yourself to go on a downward spiral, flip it around and create something positive instead!

Learn to Appreciate the Obstacles

How do you deal when you are faced with an obstacle blocking you from your dream?

Do you get upset, get angry, or even give up all together thinking “why me?”

Or do you recognize the obstacle for what it is, simply an obstacle, something to work around on the path to your goal.

Life does not always flow the way we want it to but it is in the tough times that we grow and learn.

An obstacle does not mean there is anything wrong with you or your dream, it’s simply an obstacle.

Learn to embrace the times when things don’t work out your way, you are simply being guided in a different direction, being given the chance to get creative and test your passion for what you really want.

Perhaps an obstacle will change your dream, to something you would like even more but had not considered before.

If it wasn’t for the obstacles I would not be here fulfilling my dream of travelling around India. I would not be training to be yoga teacher and reiki practioner, it was not something I had even considered up until this year. I never imagined I would be on this path but here I am and am loving every second of it.

So learn to appreciate the obstacles, you never know what path they may lead you down towards living a life you love.

Recreate Your Reality

So often the way we think hold us back in life and stops us from experiencing what we truly wish for. We have created these ways of thinking, our beliefs, over time since we were born. We have beliefs about how work should be, the right and wrong way of dealing with and making money, relationships and in every other area of our lives.

At some stage when you started to think that way, when you created your beliefs, it would have worked for you but over time things shift and then our way of thinking no longer serves us.

We have the power within us to recreate our reality of any area that is not working for us right now. After all we created the first way of thinking so it’s totally possible to change it again. Following is an exercise I have learnt recently which I find really powerful to help you do this:

1. Pick an area in your life that you would like to recreate.

2. Have two pieces of paper in front of you.

3. On the first page write everything you believe to be true about this area, especially the negative beliefs about it.

4. On the second piece of paper write how you would like this area of you life to be. Write it like it is already like this, thoughts are energy and the universe will give you back what you think about. If you start a thought saying “I want”, then you will just experience the wanting, it’s more powerfulto say something like “I have love in my life”, “Money flows to me” and so on.

5. Take the first bit of paper, your old beliefs, and set it on fire. Watch that old way of thinking go up in flames, acknowledge it and set it free.

6. Keep the second piece of paper to hand and read it regularly. Over time watch it become your reality.

You don’t need to put up with anything in your life, you always have the power to change your experience of it from within.
